Blog Tour: Author S.M. Bjarson

Q. When did you decide to become a writer?
When I first read Charlotte's Web as a child. I figured I could write better stories than talking animals, and by then my imagination began to dwell on the impossible.

Q. Do you write on a typewriter, computer, dictate or longhand?
Longhand usually promotes the best ideas and than i transcribe them onto a computer.

Q. What inspired you to write your first book?
I found a deep connection with the story and characters because some of the elements come from my daily life.

Q. Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?
I wish every reader that comes upon it will be emensely overwhelmed with a feeling of hope.

Q. Are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?
Some are and others aren't depends on the story.

Q. What books have most influenced your life most?
Book that have most influenced my life are The Scribbler of Dreams, Mary E. Pearson. Love Story, Jennifer Echols. Love, Stargirl, Jerry Spennili.

Q. If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?
Not in the slightest I believe our abilities to translate things that are difficult and can benefit others, well we all have our own definition of survival, but mine welcomes a warrior.

Q. Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?
Things I often find compromising in telling a certain story, is that you want to be fair to both the character and the reader. This is a challenge because you also want to stay true to your own voice as well.

Q. Did you learn anything from writing your book and what was it?
A lesson I feel I have learned in every sentence I write, in the chapters that get written, is that you have to put your whole entire soul and heart on the line to make this story believable. Because nobody wants to believe a character or plot that doesn't believe in itself.

Q. Do you have any advice for other writers?
Stay true to your own voice and do not compromise your integrity just to fit into mainstream sales. Believe there is an audience for your book and doors open up with people eagerly awaiting to read the pages.
